For years, artists have been uploading their portfolios into platforms that slowly turned into open databases for AI scrapers. At our sister project: https://tasteminty.com/, we noticed that this trend is also turning our vision of fair hosting site for artist portfolios upside down. If nothing, Minty became a target of bots, recieving more than 800 000 requests to login. While we built Minty in a way, that no bot got behind, we did certainly did not want Minty to become another target of AI scraper bots.
Instead of giving up, we hardened it.
That is why every public portfolio on Minty is now protected through multiple layers of anti-scraping systems, including bot blockers, AI bot mazes and deeply integrated watermarking for every displayed artwork.
We believe artists should still be able to share their work publicly, get discovered and build opportunities online without losing control over where their art ends up.
Artist Choice and Participation
At the same time, we also believe the future of AI should not happen without artists. Minty was built to create a more honest alternative, one where illustrators can consciously decide if and how they want to participate.
Artists can choose what kind of assets they want to provide, define the styles, subjects and complexity they are comfortable sharing, and stay fully informed about how their work is being used.
No silent scraping.
No hidden training.
Just clear participation and a fair relationship between creators and technology.
API Ecosystem and Fair Share
We are now building an API ecosystem around human-made illustration styles and commercially safe visual assets. The idea is simple: help brands, creative tools and content platforms access authentic visual work created by real artists — while making sure the artists themselves remain part of the value chain.
Minty operates with a fair share philosophy, where participating artists directly benefit from the growth of the ecosystem they help create.
